Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has asserted that India is fully equipped to handle any scenario. This statement comes in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's allegations that Pakistan is secretly conducting nuclear tests.
Recently, Trump mentioned during a program on an American channel that several countries, including Pakistan, are covertly engaging in nuclear testing, which has sparked global discussions. In an interview with a media outlet, Rajnath Singh expressed that India is not alarmed by these reports. He stated, “Let them do what they want; we cannot stop anyone. However, India is prepared for any situation that may arise.”
Trump also indicated that the U.S. might resume nuclear testing, citing that other nations are already doing so. He specifically named Pakistan, claiming that Islamabad is conducting tests in secrecy.
It is noteworthy that India's Ministry of External Affairs had previously responded to Trump's remarks. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that Pakistan's nuclear history is fraught with illegal and clandestine activities. He remarked, “Pakistan's nuclear endeavors have always been linked to smuggling, violations of controls, and illicit processes like the A.Q. Khan network.”
In contrast, Pakistan has outrightly rejected Trump's claims. Pakistani officials asserted that their country has unilaterally imposed a moratorium on nuclear testing and will not be the first to break this tradition. They also mentioned that while Pakistan is not a signatory to the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), it has consistently demonstrated restraint and responsibility.
According to existing information, India's policy has always been grounded in nuclear restraint and minimal deterrence. Rajnath Singh's statement clearly indicates that India is ready to face any challenges and remains vigilant regarding its security.
